not connecting to scanner

not connecting to scanner

I just replaced a crankshaft sencer in a 2004 Hoda 1.7 an it seem to stay in limp mode I've tried to hook a scanner to it but it says no vehicle found an I'm lost at what to do can any one help me

changed title to a more descriptive one, need help is...
  1. why did you change the sensor?
  2. was it an OEM one? Aftermarket sensors like camshaft, crankshaft does not agree well with Hondas. OEM is NTK or Denso - we parrot the same thing almost daily here, BTW.
  3. was scanner connecting to the ECU before?

I was told it was oem an I got a scanner to connect but it won't let me erase the code

Check the alternator mounting bolts. If those are loose they it can fry the ECU preventing a scanner from connecting.
