Change your Harmonic Balancers(Crank Pulleys)!

Is this an obvious given on this board?
My goal with this car was to get the drivetrain to as-new-as-possible working condition for my commuter. No engine mods, all stock.

I was chasing reasons that my idle was solid but I was still getting engine vibrations. I even changed out the motor mounts, piston rings and rod bearings. Today I bought a dorman harmonic balancer and it took the vibrations away by about 80%.

I imagine that if I pay for the $400 OEM crank pulley it would be 100%, just like the OEM motor mounts.

So if you have solid idle in and out of gear, no fluctuations, no CELs, but the engine is still wobbling/vibrating the whole car at idle, this is an easy fix. This wobble probably wears out engine mounts as well.

These cars are 20 years old and the rubber has likely perished. Especially since a lot of us have gotten these cars with no splash shields and the pulleys were extra exposed.

Let me know what you guys think.
