Service manual doesn't tell where the starter is located. mine would not crank this morning, been looking for the starter for about an hour now. Near as I can tell it doesn't have one.

Re: Where is the starter? (diagram please)

You replied to an eight year old thread with pictures showing you exactly where the starter is located.

Pictures show very little about where the starter is located, and the service manual is no help either. Turns out in a Civic Si it's under the intake manifold.

Re: Where is the starter? (diagram please)

Si in US is the hatch, completely different engine - you got the wrong manual then. This post is about the non-hatch with the D engine, you have a K engine...

You can get to it from underneath but it's a pain. I usually just remove the intake manifold.

I have the correct manual, I have a hatchback. The pictures are not useful; what the OP asked for was a DIAGRAM which nobody provided. I thought I'd update the post for those of us who have a Si and need to replace the starter.

And look at that I didn't provide a diagram either!

Thanks for the info, the car has 250k miles on it and so I'll probably have to replace the starter one day. This time it wouldn't turn over; turned out to be the clutch safety wasn't working. Easy solution, I wired it out. Fifteen minutes work, mostly hunting solder. Now I can kneel outside the car, start it in gear, and probably run over myself - but barring something that stupid I don't think I'll miss the clutch safety switch.

I wired out the one on my Dodge 3/4 ton pickup ten years ago and so far I've managed to survive without it.

The starters last a very long time, leave it alone until it fails. The aftermarket ones arent nearly as good as the factory ones
