Need a Little Help.
Good Afternoon Everyone.
Purchased my step son his first car 2002 Honda Civic EX a couple of mos. Ago. He's pretty much done nothing but drive the thing, telling him to keep his eye on his oil, anti-freeze. Long story short. The car is now sitting in the driveway failint to turn over. He complained the car is running hot after driving it a few miles. Come to find out, he's been putting water in the radiator Not Anti-freeze. ( We live in Florida).
Replaced the thermostat. Wasnt the issue. The car continued to cut off.
Now, there seems to be an issue with the car not doing anything. ( Please review video)

solenoid is not engaging?
starter gear is not getting to the flywheel? Strange, if solenoid is not pushing it should not spin. starter motor gears lost teeth?
remove starter and have it checked

ok, name is pinion, not gear...
my comments are valid if the engine is not turning but starter is
if engine is turning, other issues, leave the starter alone
