Re: Complete rebuild

I would just put in another used engine.

If you're set on rebuilding the crank and rods need to be checked by a machine shop, there's a good chance they have damage. The block and head should also be cleaned to get out any metal shavings from the bearing.

It cheaper to do the rebuild than any of the replacements I've found

Engine should be sub $500 all day. Rebuild will be at least double that

Take them to a machine shop. It’s not worth reusing them blindly.

Of course. They'll be taking the time to do it. If you go to a shop, they're going to charge you for their time. It should be no more than probably 1 hour of labor though.

If you don't understand the value of a machine shop, then just slap everything together and move on with your life

Re: Complete rebuild

You cannot cut corners when rebuilding an engine, unless you'd like to rebuild it again soon.
