replacement exhaust manifold catalytic converter came with no heat shielding

My 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid is throwing me a P0420 code. I ordered a replacement exhaust manifold catalytic converter some time ago and am finally getting around to replacing it.

After struggling to get the old one off I began to remove the heat shielding off the old one to put it on the new one and realized there is no way to attach the heat shields to the new one. It's a Bosal and there are no welded tabs with the bolt holes like the original has.

I tried calling an exhaust shop to ask if they could weld a heat shield on the sucker and the fella insisted that I didn't need one, that even if they put one on it's just going to crack and rattle. I know the person is a professional but I can't help feeling like the engine bay on these hybrids is so small and I'm concerned it's a fire hazard or at the very least not great for other parts nearby. I asked a relative that's a mechanic to get a second opinion and they said the same thing.

Am I crazy to be concerned and should just install this thing and be done, heat shielding be damned?

Ehh I wouldn’t worry about it. You’re not crazy to be concerned but they are not really necessary.
