Exclamation Burning smell 2003 EX Sedan (230k miles)

Got this car for very cheap and intend to fix it up. It has a burning smell when I get out after a drive, and there seems to be a leak going on under the left side of the D17A2 motor. It is visible near the barcode sticker in the attached image. Any tips? I am fairly new to cars, have a mechanic friend willing to help me out, but what should I be prepared for? Any ideas for why this is leaking? A solution?

I don't see any visible coolant in the reservoir haha. Gonna go buy some, should I go for Honda's all season or Coolant #2 instead? Florida warm climate. Should I follow Manual's instructions to replace fluid or is there anything I should look for first, like where the leak comes from? I am noticing more leakage that seems to be around the headgasket... though I am not sure if its oil or dirty coolant.

What do you recommend I do? I also noticed there is no visible coolant in the reservoir, but oddly enough no lights come on in the cluster.

How should I check this? Also worth noting I see no visible coolant in the reservoir.
