Just bought a timing belt kit for my 01 Honda Civic DX And I got these in the package. When I bought the kit online it didn’t include these. So I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do with them
After further investigation and comparing the old tensioner to the new these look like some sort of seal that is supposed to be on the tensioner. The new tensioner doesn’t have the same type that came with the package already installed so I’m really confused as to what I am looking at. Not to mention the bolt diameter and length is bigger than the original, but the thread pitch is the same
you don't need to do it now.
but if the front seal starts leaking, you will need to do everything again.
If you try now, you will need to remove the harmonic damper (pulley) at the crankshaft.
camshaft, you are not opening the valve cover, replace if there is leak around the camshaft
