Honda civic 2003 ex stutter upon acceleration
My Honda Civic Ex 2003 Stuttered upon acceleration whilst going up a couple mountains. I have a feeling it's something to do with the fuel system.
I also noticed starting a year ago that if I didnt wait 10 seconds before moving my car after starting it, I would experience a brief moment where the car cannot accelerate at all and it shakes.
I'm aiming at a bad fuel pump and filter maybe. But what are your suggestions or thoughts? And would I have to take the gas tank out to replace something like this?
UPDATE** a day after this occurred, I got 2 check engine light codes.
P1259 manufacturer control
P0740 torque converter clutch circuit open
I knew about the torque converter, that hasn't caused me any issues.
The p1259 is the new one though. I believe its something to do with VTEC? Any knowledge on this code and what to do?

Re: Honda civic 2003 ex stutter upon acceleration
I would start by removing & cleaning your throttle body & idle air control valve to correct the new code. I did to it to my 03 civic DX & she's still all original @ 202,K & running great. I just keep up on all routine maintenance & she's good.
as far as the P0740 code, I recently posted a thread here titled "P0740" & listed how I corrected mine without rebuilding tranny. I hope this helps.
