Valve/vibration.

I did my valve clearance adjustment at 0.007 intake and 0.009 exhaust and it started vibrating even more than it was before.. Its possible that i adjusted the intake side too low? I'm assuming because it wasn't vibrating before this much like it is now.
my next issue I'm having is that even when i adjusted them at the specified measurement and torque them down 15ft pound and drive for awhile like a few months, the clearance always changed, meaning like some of them would be tight and some a little bit loose. I recheck them after I'm done but some how they always changed after awhile from driving around. What to do.?

Re: Valve/vibration.

I did my valve adjustments 3 years ago or so and used the same values you used. It was my first time doing it. When I drove it afterwards I noticed it was not right. My technique was wrong. I adjusted my technique What I did the second time was to open the adjuster, close it slowly with gauge in there and tighten it down slowly until I felt good resistance (not toomuch) on trying to pull out gauge. I was then consistent with all 16 valves. It ran quiet after that. Real quiet. Still does 3 years later. I am not saying you did it wrong or inefficiently, but if you are a rookie like me perhaps it is something to look at. Good luck.

Re: Valve/vibration.

I dont know homie, i did this thing several times before but just not finding the sweet spot of how tight the feeler gauge should feel underneath the valve stem and the racker arm tip.thats the biggest issue for me but i will not stop until i find it. I realized that the compression is not strong like it was after adjusting the valve to.i will go at it again. Have you ever had issues with pcv valve leakage before.?i have one but cant find it.i took it to a shop but they themselves didn't found anything either.

No No issues here. I replaced mine a couple years ago before it could leak.
Get under the car, look to the left of the oil filter and you will see it.

Re: Valve/vibration.

Valves will tighten over time so it's better to go with the upper range of the spec values: .009" intake and .011" exhaust.

Concerning the second issue: they should not vary in tightness/ looseness in that short amount of time. If you are using a socket torque wrench you will not be able to keep the slotted bolt from turning when the socket turns the nut.
I think you might be better off in this case tightening the nut by feel as you use a flat head screw driver to keep the slotted bolt from turning.

Re: Valve/vibration.

I know where to find the pcv valve. Its just that I'm having the code that shows its my pcv valve air leakage.
And the intake valve clearance is 0.007-0.009 intake and 0.009-0.0011 for the exhaust. So i cant use 0.009 for the intake side as that will too loose and it will make the valve make too much noise. When you did yours, did you use the 0.007 for the intake side?

Have you performed a motor mounts check?
Cylinders compression test?
