What gasket/seal is this?
I removed the oil pan when I discovered this loose gasket/seal dangling between the engine and timing belt (see below).

yes..that's the one.
Oil gets on them and they degrade and tear.

Yep. Looks like. Not fun to replace. Might as well do a timing belt replacement if you're almost due for one since you have to take the crank pulley off to get to that gasket.
