Gas gauge heavily dropping/fluctuating
Hey everyone, I am new to the forum & I'm hoping someone may be able to help me out. I have a 2001 Civic LX, and over the past couple weeks I've noticed my gas gauge severely dropping overnight, or just after driving several miles. Earlier today I drove about 4 miles to the grocery store on a full tank & after returning to my car my gas gauge had dropped down to 3/4. I've checked for gas & vacuum leaks, and everything looks fine. What else couls be causing this problem? Thank you for your time to answer.

Has your mileage dropped or is the gauge just messing up?

first find out if you are losing gas or if the gauge is acting up (filling the tank is one way)
