04 civic 1.7 rev issue
Just had the engine swapped in my 04 civic now it wont rev past 2500 rpm mechanic says it might have to do with the security system the check engine light is on and giving an 02 sensor code could this be the problem any advice would be greatly appreciated
The engine is a non vtec and auto trans also had a new timing belt and plugs done during swap and oil is full

It has nothing to do with the security. Did the previous engine have VTEC? What is the fault code in the Pxxxx format? What trim is your Civic? DX, LX, EX, etc.
You paid this mechanic to replace the engine, make him fix his mistakes.
