Cool 2001 Civic Swap Help..

Have a question. I have a 2001 civic automatic SOHC and threw a rod. I now bought same engine but with VTEC. The VTEC engine is from a 2002-2005 civic from JDM.

My issue is I keep getting a engine light, P0700 code and CPS code.
RPMs will not go past 3500 so I believe its in Limp Mode.

I have swapped all sensors from other engine that blew.

At first car ran fine, shifts smooth, but now its in Limp Mode and I just can figure out what to do next.

The VTEC solenoid is not on the engine so its pretty much like the stock SOHC.

Its mind boggling and annoying.
I don't want to keep dropping money if I don't need to.

Can someone Help.?

Do I need to change the ECU?

Mechanic said timing is good..
I know he used the timing belt from the old engine and matched up the markings to the new engine..

huh?

what do you mean by this?

he should be going by the marks on the NEW engine,

are you saying he marked the belt from the old engine?

and why would he use the old belt anyway? if he had it off he should have just replaced it.....that leads to my next question, why did he have it off?

Re: 2001 Civic Swap Help..

Well the belt from the old engine was pretty new about 5k on it..
So the marking on the belt was matched up with the mark on the cam of the new engine..

i have never heard of anybody ever doing something like this, you dont need any marks on the belt, you use the marks on the crank and cam, the position of the belt teeth is irrelevant,

rotate the crank by hand to line up the TDC marks, then check the TDC marks on the cam, do they line up?

Ok..checked TDC and everything lined up..
Now I'm getting a P0335 code..
I already replaced the sensor and still seems to be in limp mode cutting out at 3500 rpms..
