2002 Civic Ex Will not Accelerate
This engine will not accelerate even with pedal to the floor but will start and idle great. CEL says EGR but it is clean. Help!

Did you check the EGR passages in the intake manifold?

Car is in limp mode. I'm going to install a Genuine Honda TDC/Cam Position Sensor and pray.

What is the exact code? P0401, P1491, P1498?

Usually a thorough cleaning of the EGR valve and the EGR ports solves this issue.

Why change the TDC sensor for an EGR code?

Good ole internet research led me to the tdc sensor and the fact I had this same exact issue around 10 years ago

I know right. Apparently the codes are not an exact science.

A blocked egr valve shouldn't cause limp mode. I have a plate blocking the passage, intentionally.
