Hi Civicforums!
I have 2001 EL Acura 1.7
I unclip the wire connecting the crankshaft position sensor, while doing timing belt, and now I've read here that never-ever unhook the wire from crankshaft position sensor, my question is am I running issue here in the future? after I have installed all my belts and crank pulley bolts? I dont wanna re-do everything just to fix this sensor, gives me a lot of work.
What is the preventive measure before I put back all installations regarding my timing belt job?Should I unbolt the old crankshaft position sensor, and buy new one?
Need advice on this, I am almost finish installing everything but only this crankshaft position sensor stopping me to wrap up everything, thisworries me though.
Thanks in advance!
ELfred

the reason you unbolt it instead of disconnecting it is so you dont get coolant in the connectors,
clean the hell out of it with electrical contact cleaner, both the sensor side and the harness side

Hi thanks Colin42!
BTW, mine is 2001 EL which is the same as all 7th gen civic,OBD2, I mean It is my CRANK FLUCTUATION SENSOR (it is a millimeter distance to crankshaft sprocket at the bottom of the engine) in which from the very beginning of my inquiry, is the wording that I misused is leading to wrong info/answer to follow, Crankshaft position Sensor are for OBD1 and it is located at distributor, sorry for the confusion.
Thanks in advance!
