Check engine light - no activity to o2 sensor

Hi all-

i have an 05 Civic. I recently had to replace the radiator, head gasket, and alternator. At the same time replaced the water pump and timing belt. After that it started throwing a code for a bad upstream o2 sensor. Replaced both 02 sensors. Now it is saying there is no power to the o2 sensor. Getting tired of replacing parts, and I am running out of time to replace my sticker (failed for emissions almost 2 months ago). Mass sucks XD. Looking for any thoughts/ideas/input. Thanks!!
edit: the exact code is P0134

Where did you get the o2 sensors from? What brand?

Thanks for the link, I’ll give it a read!

Sensor brand is NTK, purchased through RockAuto

Re: Check engine light - no activity to o2 sensor

Now it is saying there is no power to the o2 sensor.
P0134 is inactive sensor, it does not say "no power to sensor"

The primary sensor is an AF sensor, not O2 sensor. Make sure it's right.

this is the part. If it’s incorrect, a link to the proper part would be super helpful. The mechanic referred to it as an o2 sensor, but at this point I’m not convinced he knows what he’s talking about 🙄. I’m def no expert, and I feel like I’m beyond my element here :/

Your image refers REAR sensor, Your code is for the FRONT sensor.
Your image refers to a D17A6 engine (HX trim level??), is this your actual engine?
Other engine choices are probably D17A1 and D17A2

Go to the NGK or Denso (whichever brand was originally installed, hope you still have it and can read the brand) corporate websites to look up their part number of the sensor. Then search for that number.

The mechanic referred to it as an o2 sensor, but at this point I’m not convinced he knows what he’s talking about
On a consumer level, he's right. Most people would understand what an O2 sensor is.
Technically, the PRIMARY (front) sensor an Air/Fuel ratio sensor, Looks the same, does about the same job, but it's far more accurate and operates very different from a plain O2 sensor. Computer is different for use with this type of sensor.

The secondary (rear) sensor is an ordinary O2 sensor.

oh Thank You! That all makes sense. I can get the original and check part numbers and also check my VIN. I really appreciate the easy to follow explanation. Fingers crossed that all I have to do is get the proper part in, that would be a huge relief!

You NEED to know what your engine code is first

Re: Check engine light - no activity to o2 sensor

Oh good to know, thanks guys!! Going to take a look at the engine block today and also look st the original part that came out of the car. Definitely appreciating your help, I didn’t realize how specialized Honda’s were in some ways. Maybe it’s just that I’m new to trying to do anything on my car. Either way, I’m glad people who know their stuff are willing to help!
