I an having the same problems as others are. I have a 2002 honda civic LX. showing codes P1361 & P1362.
Had the same problem a few months back, and I changed the cam shaft sensor and all was good until last week.
what is the different symptoms of a cam shaft sensor problem and a crank shaft sensor problem.

did you replace it with a OEM honda sensor?

i have heard alot of bad stories about cheap aftermarket sensors when used on these cars,

if it is OEM sensor it could be a wiring or connection issue

Is not OEM.
But what is the difference between a camshaft sensor symptoms and a crankshaft sensor symptom ?
If not a wiring issue, does the P1361 & P1362 point to the cam or the crank sensor ? which is more likely ?
Again I did replace the cam sensor a few months back with one from Advance (Not OEM).

i would suspect the sensor bad again, and i would replace it with an OEM honda sensor,

aftermarket sensors seem to have a lot of problems in these cars

Can a cam sensor be bench tested? If so what would be the procedure ? Thanks again. ( Ido have it out of the car )

not really, but you can use process of elimination by testing all the wiring and signal to the sensor,

i had a faulty cam sensor last summer and used these instructions to determine if it was the sensor or wiring,

click the following link and use the instructions in the second post in the thread, using a voltmeter.......

We have seen many posts that solve this issue using only OEM Honda sensors.
