P0340 Help ?

long story short,

got slight hesitating during accelleration a few days ago around 3,000RPM

only happen once about ever 5-6 times i accellerated from stop

today the car died completely while driving, it will start up sometimes for a few mins, other times not start, completely random,

only showing one code P0340

is it most likely to be the cam sensor itself?

is there a way i can test voltages at the cam sensor plug to verify that it is the sensor??

can this be the crank sensor, or a problem with the crank sensor wiring? or is that a seperate/different code?

Re: P0340 Help ?

Intermittent.....Probably temperature related?

I'd probably make sure the harness connector terminals have good tension then toss a (honda) cam sensor at it

it was very intermittent for a few days,

first it was only happening every 5 -10 mins of driving,

now its happening every 30 seconds or sooner, but sometimes it can idle for 5-10 mins without any issue at all,

it happens more while actually driving/accellerating.....not much at idle, if at all

Right on!

i just used the instruction in post #2 here......
My thinking: The fact it's an intermittent issue tells me voltages you would measure have to be correct at least while it is working, therefore the likely causes would be a failing sensor, or possibly poor contact of wiring terminals in any part of the circuits involved.
