P1361 after changing sensor..

So my 01 civic ex suddenly stopped accelerating on the highway about a month ago and I had to pull over off to the side. I cut the engine off and waited about 10 minutes to start driving it again and it drove fine but RPMs were crap and CEL came on. Later on I drove it the CEL went away and I searched around forums and found out I had to replace the TDC sensor. I bought the part and replaced it took about 2 hours to do and it drove fine up until recently I was hitting around 80 on the highway and it did the whole limping again...anyone can give me some idea on what to do? Thanks!

I went to autozone and they pulled the same code again.

Remove the aftermarket sensor
Install a factory sensor

EDIT: See if the cam is walking. http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/th...1_and_1362.pdf
I have yet to actually encounter this problem as described.

So, in your opinion and experience, you think the sensor is causing these problems e.g. P1361 codes? I'm just asking since you know my deal and what I did to remedy it. Is this the norm for vehicles that come in with this code at your dealership?

Ok, so....new Honda cam sensor, new Honda Crank sensor, new timing belt, new tensioner, new water pump. Also did new lock cylinder, immobilizer, key and ignition switch. Did the idle re-learn and the crank re-learn. getting P1361 TDC Sensor noise code. clear it, comes back within minutes. Gotten to the point of it being an 8-2 permanent code P1361 TDC Sensor noise. I can keep clearing it and it runs fine. let it idle down and the code comes back. Cam end play isn't .02. it''s almost nonexistent.,,which is good. WTH? This is like set number 3 on the cam and crank sensor. went from a crank/no start condition to this. frustration level is off the charts. got great grounds, have perfect battery voltage to the harnesses and good reference voltage. starting to suspect ECU......also suspect this car may have been a flood vehicle

If it's a flood vehicle cut your losses and make it someone else's problem

too much money and time invested in it now. The cam sensor plug and wiring look to be in pretty good shape. I've tried wiggling the wiring as I was checking voltages and it didn't fluctuate. Another reason I'm beginning ti suspect the ECU.
