Runs rough, no acceleration, no code.
Runs rough, no acceleration, no code.
I have a 2001 Honda civic EX with a 1.7DOHC I am incredibly annoyed at the car. It was running fine and I trailered it for a 600 mile drive. Afterwards it sat in my driveway for about a week. After that it was taken on a drive of about 8 miles and parked. On the return drive it started running terrible. It was stalling frequently and all sense of normal acceleration had left. I have wracked my brain and searched through several forums. I have not found a solution to this problem. The car is throwing no trouble codes. I have already checked to see if the cat was clogged by breaking the connection at the union before the cat. It was not that. If it was cam sensor or crank sensor it should have thrown a code. If it was coil pack it should have thrown a code. The only thing I can think it might be is a clogged fuel filter, but that does not sound too plausible given the circumstances leading up to it. I would be greatly appreciative of any suggestions or advise.
Thanks,
KC

No. I don't think I have checked the TPS sensor yet.
In the past the only thing that I have seen the TPS do is cause lag in the acceleration due to the computer reading the data indirectly by the o2 sensors.
Please inform me if I am mistaken here.
Thanks

Re: Runs rough, no acceleration, no code.
Well I finally broke down and I took the car to a shop. Apparently the car managed to jump time. The shop recommended th have the tensioner replaced and also the idlers pully. While it was open it is also recommended to replace the belt and water pump. Hopefully his helps somebody.
