Power Feed Mystery
Power Feed Mystery
Hi, I have a 2005 Honda Civic sedan. It has a problem with the power feed to some accessories so I’m looking for help as to what the problem might be.
Some clues:
Dome light switch has power all the time because it comes on with the switch at the light as it should
Dome light also comes on with any door opening IF the ignition switch is in the “run” position
Otherwise, the dome light does not come on when a door opens
Power door locks only work when the ignition switch is in the “run” position AND the doors are closed
All doors do not lock when locking the driver’s door from inside or from outside with the key
Key fob won’t operate power door locks
No chime when the key being left in the ignition switch
Radio does not work, no clock, screen is blank
“Seatbelt not fastened” chime does work
“Headlights left on” chime doesn’t work (if it is supposed to alert for this)
Cigar lighter has power
Thanks for any advice on this I am stumped!

Re: Power Feed Mystery
yes l am familiar with the work and tools but l don’t have a wiring schematic so it’s very unlikely l will find the problem. I looked for loose connections and wires chewed by animals because the car was sitting for a long time but everything looks normal as far as I can see. I was just hoping that somebody had heard of this exact same situation before and discovered a bad ignition switch or poor ground or something like that
