Evap wiring harness
Evap wiring harness
I have what I hope is a simple question.
The connectors for the evap system components (around the end of the canister), all seem to be on a common harness. At least, they gather into a single bundle which leads off north towards the engine bay.
questions:
Does that northbound bundle run all the way to the ECU?
Does it merge into the general body harness? I can't find a diagram that actually shows the evap connectors.
Has that piece of the harness ever been available as a pigtail? service part?
I've had this little car for 6 weeks now. Love it. it's had a CEL since I got it, which I knew about. I figured that an evap code wasn't going to be hideous: replace a couple parts and go for inspection. OOPS.
I got under it, and took a look for cracked hoses, loose wires, etc. The wires between one of the connectors and the harness bundle are broken. Better yet, they broke close to the harness bundle, and it looks like they were a little short in the first place.
what are my options here? is it a sub harness? is there a pigtail? can I just disable the system without anything having a breakdown?
At worst, I can loosen the bundle enough that I can solder under the car, and kluge a connection to the plug. This is NOT my idea of a good time. I'm perfectly happy to buy that chunk of harness if available, even from a junkyard.
And just to make it all better, I'm red/green colorblind.
anyone know of a somewhat relaxed inspection station in allegheny county, Pa? The rest of the vehicle is in excellent shape.
Thank you.
