Seems like a pretty good old car. Just bought it the other day. But when trying the radio-cd, even fooling with the balances from rear to front- left to right, the passenger side and both rear speakers don't work. Any help?

Does it have an aftermarket radio? Maybe some hacked up wiring behind the radio.

Stock radio. When I got it home I had to enter the code because the battery was disconnected. I didn't know what was going on so I started pushing all kinds of buttons. Then I found out I had to enter the code which the former owner had written down.

Don't know how to test one.I thought maybe when I entered the code it could have stuck in an unbalanced position. I was playing around with the ***** before I entered the code and restarted the radio. Does disconnecting the battery just reset the radio presets or does it do something else?

Disconnecting the stereo wont affect the speakers. You will have to re-enter the code and you will lose the presets again.

This is a related question, on that 2005 civic LX automatic transmission, am I going to be able to reach up under the dashboard and push and pull on the two connectors behind the radio to see if they're corroded or loose?

Doubt they are. Just pull the radio out. Lots of videos on how to do it.

I got sound out of a test speaker I had for an amplifier. So it probably is 3 bad speakers. I took a close-up picture of the connectors on the speaker because I cannot get a position to see it, and the 2 connectors look like they have a buildup on them. I'll try to get lucky and use some solvent in a cotton swab and maybe scrape the leads to see if I can get anything out of it.

They usually have some type of grease in them from factory, leave it alone
