Headlights - Both sides out. No Low, No High. Switch on steering wheel works
Heads up this is all secondhand knowledge from my sister who I gave the car to.
I searched forums for ages - all posts i found were either only low didnt work or only high didnt work - no posts about both being out. If you know how to find a similar post to mine please let me know.
So both sides went out at same time and neither highbeams or low lights work on either side.
We've checked: fuses, that the switch on the drivers handle handle works.
I only wonder if one relay going out could knock out high beams and low beam. Both went out at once so i dont think its the bulbs, fuse is fine, if one relay failing cant knock out bulbs on hi and lo, then its probably loose wiring somewhere? Curious what others might think.
Re: Headlights - Both sides out. No Low, No High. Switch on steering wheel works
I piggybacked off of the powerline for the headlights to add some LEDs (on a switch - rarely on) to be able to see the floor when driving at night if needed. These lights only turn on when the headlight switch is on and the additional LED lightswitch is on.
The reason I suspect the headlight switch is working is because the LEDs still function as they did before the headlights burned out - i.e. they only turn on when the headlight switch is on AND the switch to power the LEDs is on. I am no pro, but I'd suspect if the switch was bad, the LEDs not function or would function differently. I fully admit I may not know what I'm talking about here though.
Now that I'm typing this out, I wonder if I should check the point where I piggybacked onto the power for the LED's. I used a "T-Tap" to take the power for the LEDs.

Where do your LEDs ground? With the info you've given it points to a missing ground. This ground goes through the headlight switch (high/low beam switch) and then to G401 (pic below). It could still be the headlight switch itself but maybe you messed with this ground when installing your LEDs.
