High beams burned out
High beams burned out
I have a '91 Civic HB which I love, but it's getting old and has more problems all the time.
Most recently, I was driving at night and I smelled a bad odor like electrical burning. Tried to engage the high beams and the switch didn't click like it usually does, but the high beams worked briefly. Switched back to low beams for a passing car, then back to high beams. More burning smell, and this time no click and no high beams. Low beams are fine, they still work. Is this a repair I can do myself? I don't usually deal with electrical repairs, but am willing to try.
Thanks for any help!

Re: High beams burned out
prolly gonna have to inspect the stock wiring, specifically the fuses and relays, but im betting you need to make a new harness since you smelled burning wires. could also be a toasted headlight switch. i would take that apart and see if you notice any burnt parts. if so, replace the switch. if the fuse blew, chances are wiring is okay.
