My 02 civic dx was nearly stolen last night and now won’t start.
Key turns on and all it does is make a fast beeping sound but no dash lights come on.
The headlights work so don’t think it’s the battery
I’m trying to move it from street to driveway as the drivers door glass shattered when thief was prying on door.
Thief also broke all plastic shroud off steering column to access ignition but I see no obvious damage.
I am not even able to shift out of park while brake pedal is depressed. I believe I have a chip in my key so I have tried leaving key turned on for at least 8 minutes then let it sit for a while to reset as some have suggested in this forum. This did not work. Again I have no dash lights come on at all.
Anyone have any suggestions to help me out?

my best suggestion is to have someone that knows electrical work come in to check. Who knows what they did there...
