Alternator Bracket - looking for

Hey all.

My alternator mounting bracket, the threading for the mounting bolt is stripped.

I'm wondering what the part # is for it? $60???
Or
I'm thinking about shelling out for a helical type thing. $60?+????
Or
Drilling out a 3/4 recess and epoxying in a bolt with the right thread. $20

Where can I buy a bracket? I see them on eBay, not sure if I want that route. but the engine mount bolt threads are sorta stripped too.
It'd be good to have the part # to help in shopping.

I've never used a junk yard before. Prolly;ly a good place to start

Re: Alternator Bracket - looking for

I believe you are talking about the top alternator bolt? Part number 11910-PLC-010, about $50 before tax and shipping is what I'm seeing. Should be real cheap if you pick it from a junkyard.

I won't say it's the right thing to do but I bought a Civic once with the threads stripped out. Previous owner drilled out the remaining threads completely, bought a longer bolt that went all the way past the old threads, then put a locking nut on the end.

The bolt is fine, but yes, its the bracket threading for the bolt thats stripped. Damn aluminum everything on this car.
I looked into getting a longer bolt and adding a nut on their... but even the original bolt just barely fits into the bracket mount as is given the space. You did this? Perhaps the bolt I got was too long?

Re: Alternator Bracket - looking for

I was likely replacing the head gasket on that car so I would have had that engine mount off. I must have jacked up the engine until I could get the longer bolt out.

Re: Alternator Bracket - looking for

Hmm. I could do that now, but, that sounds a little too permanent and inflexible for how often I work on my car...
