Brake light problem on 2005 LX
Brake light problem on 2005 LX
So, my passenger brake light will not come on when I brake. I've replaced the bulb, it is new. The light does work, because at night with car lights on this light is dim red (should turn to more intense red, like the driver's side, when brake pedal is pushed), and when I remote lock the car, all the brake lights flash once and the car honks. So tthe light is good, and is getting a connection. I checked the brake pedal switch, removed from under the steering column, black plug thing with white rubber depressor, for continuity with a friend's multimeter, it is good and should be functioning properly. I ASSUME it wuld not be the bulb socket, b/c sometimes the bulb has power. Also assuming that it's not a fuse, b/c my manual tells me the brake lights aren't split up left and right with seperate fuses. This problem just appeared all of the sudden. What is wrong with my car is it a wire??
Thanks if you know

Make sure the socket is clean and making good contact. Can sand lightly with 220 grit, blow out with compressed air, spray with electronic cleaner.
