04 Civic instrument cluster failure
04 Civic instrument cluster failure
The instruments in my '04 Civic have started behaving erratically. From time to time while driving the speedo and tach will deflect full scale for a few seconds and return to normal. When this happens the PRNDL indicator switches to P. I haven't been able to take my eyes off the road long enough to determine what other aspects of the cluster are doing, but I think there is more abnormal stuff going on. It seems pretty obvious that there is a connection problem somewhere, and I'm thinking it is most likely a ground problem. I'm hoping someone has seen this problem before and can point me in the direction of the solution.

other than that...
electronics goes crazy when voltage is not consistent.
Check battery and alternator.
pretty famous issues in the 7th gen civics, but i guess with more and more electronics in cars, this is getting further more important.
