Random engine revving on the highway at 70mph Anybody?
Bought the car new. It was a leftover 2018, came from a Honda dealer with standard warranty.
Happened about a dozen times in the three years I’ve owned it. It has 30,381 miles on it. (When it revs on the highway doing 75mph the tach goes up to about 5400rpm.)
Last Weekend, While driving on a secondary road on slight incline, doing 45mph the engine revved to only 2500 rpm and my accelerator felt ‘dead’ for lack of a better word. Felt like it was in neutral. I goosed the accelerator and it stopped th revving and behaved itself. Clutch slipping??
Have you all had or heard of this type of experience? If so, what was the outcome. I took the car to my mechanic who regularly works on Hondas. He put the car on their computer and no codes came up. No check engine symbol showed, as usual.
Any ideas?

Clutch seems to be a common issue due to bad parts.
