A cracked cowl
A cracked cowl
Hi,
I cracked the cowl panel at the base of the windshield of my 2017 Civic while clearing ice from it; there is a gaping hole (probably 3-4 inches long, almost an inch wide) in it. Two questions:
1. Do I need to worry about any pieces that fell into the hole?
2. If I cover the hole with duct tape until I can replace the cowl, will that do any harm? The cowl had holes in it, which I assume play some ventilation role, but I really don't know anything about this.
Thank you.

Re: A cracked cowl
Pictures?
yes and yes, if something had holes and you block those holes, you're going to cause problems. The chunks that fell in are going to be bouncing around and make noise. Once you have it off you should be able to find all the bits.
You can get one from a junkyard cheap
