2019 Infotainment Issues
I have a 2019 Civic Touring. I have had it for 6 weeks and have have to do a reboot on my infotainment system 7 times now. I use an iPhone XS Max with it. It occurs when I have stopped for gas or fast food and turn the car off. I then restart it and the Honda logo pops up and then the display goes BLANK. Nothing else works after this. I have to reboot the infotainment. I took it in to service at the Honda Dealership and they have nothing in their network regarding this for 2019 Civics.
I have rebooted my iPhone. My updates are consistently current on my iPhone. I have repaired the bluetooth with my iPhone and the intermittent issue continues. They could not duplicate it at the dealership (par for the course). I thought I would reach out to fellow civic owners for some help!

Re: 2019 Infotainment Issues
Try calling Honda directly. I had an issue with my 2019 civic sport and they couldn't resolved. I asked them what I could do next and they said call Honda directly. I haven't done that yet, but maybe you could give it a shot
Re: 2019 Infotainment Issues
I have a 2018 hatch lx and had issues with my unit as well where it wouldn't stop beeping lime you were pushing a button on it. I would have to pull over and turn the car off then on. First time I took it to the dealership they couldn't recreate it. However when it happened again I took a video of it. They replaced the unit all together. Since then that hasn't happened again but I have had it once where it wouldn't come on at all and when you touch the screen it flashes green. Yes I had a video of this to and the dealership said to let them know if it happens again. Nothing to date seems to be ok so far fingers crossed
Re: 2019 Infotainment Issues
I have had issues with mine also. I took it in for a service. I was told it was okay. I purchased a new phone. I am still having the same issues. It is going back next wee. They have said they will do an update if that doesn’t work they have said they will replace the head unit.
Re: 2019 Infotainment Issues
June 8 2020 update.
car was taken in again Friday for several on going issues, the display unit was one of them. They called me today and said they replaced the entire audio system. Keep in mind they have already replaced the display unit last year.
I am very disappointed with the amount of issues this car has had being less than 3 years old.

1- When hanging up a phone call it never disconnects. This has happened multiple times to me, all random times, so I can't pinpoint the cause to the dealership. The first time it happened I thought the caller never hung up the phone. It happened to be my wife and I was only about 10 miles from home. So, I knew it had nothing to do with her not hanging up. If I'm on a long drive the phone will stay connected, like it's in a call, still showing the minutes are elapsing, but the other person truly has hung up. The screen is locked, can't use the controls from the steering wheel, etc. I've gone an hour or so before I could get to my destination and it still showed that it was connected to the call. When I told the dealership they "reset the codes", but it continues to happen randomly.
2- when I make a call, and get over about 50mph the person on the other end of the call will say "you sound like you are under water" or "what happened, do you have the windows open". Come to find out it's not my phone that is the problem because when my wife connects to the blue tooth the same thing happens. I did a test drive with the mechanics at Honda as I took a service member out on a drive, we called the honda mechanics back at the shop and sure enough once we got over about 50mph the interference occurred. The mechanics thought it could be the microphone. Well I haven't heard back from the dealership on this and truly believe they don't have a solution. Finally, I just decide "screw it" I now don't use the bluetooth at all and use an old school headset with connecting wire to make calls. Also, that prevents problem #1 from happening.
3- Just yesterday this happened. I passed a vehicle, using my right turn signal of course prompts the passenger side mirror camera to come on the infotainment system. Well it never shut off. I even video recorded it. I continued to drive the car for about another 7 miles making multiple right turns, left turns, with no resolution. When I got to my parking place at work the camera continued to stay on the screen. The radio was still working. I could change channels using the steering wheel, but the side camera still stayed on. And, as history would have it, I went into work, came out hours later and the camera rebooted. It looks like nothing happened.
**The only solution is to have one of these events happen while you're driving by the dealership**
All of this nonsense with the infotainment system has really pushed me to likely not buy another Honda. And, we are Honda folks! My parents had a 1980 2 door honda civic and the first 1984 Honda Wagon. My Honda roots run deep, but Honda has really jacked up this infotainment system.
Re: 2019 Infotainment Issues
Hi
As mentioned above, after my issues and having actual video footage to show the dealership, they have replaced my display unit and the entire audio system under warranty. I have had only one issue just a month ago where, I was trying to change the AC settings, and the display unit wouldn't do anything. none of the display buttons would work, not even shutting the car off and on again did anything. I could not reboot it either. After about 10mins of driving, I hit the "back" button which brought it back to the main menu and it seemed to be fine after that. I don't know why the back button worked. As I am out of warranty it is pointless going to the dealership about it. With the amount of issues I have had with this car just over 3 years old now, I have seriously considered getting rid of it. very disappointing as I am a honda guy too. I cannot stress enough that you need to have video or audio proof of your issue or the dealership won't know what to do and give you the standard "we can't re-create the issue" response and send you on your way.
