OT: Garage door opener

Completely off and away from the topic of cars... Well, not exactly, seeing how the garage is where they live, haha...

I need to replace my garage door opener. I've got one that's at least 15 yrs old on a rail that won't close properly 90% of the time, so looking to replace it.

Anyone done it before? I expect it'd be rather straightforward as I've already got all the mounting and such in place, and should be able to rip out and pop in without too too much trouble.

But my question is, are there (if any) any tricks or watch-fors while installing a new one, and if the new opener comes with railings and such, but the old ones fit, should I still replace all of them?

Of coz, if anyone wants to come and give me a hand installing it, on me!

i installed mine myself.. it shouldn't be more than a 1 hour job with 2 guys.
since you already have teh mounting braces setup...

btw if you got those 1 piece doors.. that's a bitch to do... compared to the multi piece doors.. i did both my multi-piece doors in a lil over 4.5 hours cause my ******* garage ceiling is like 20 ft high and had to mount the new braces

calibration of the sensor on mine took a while to adjust
