insurance and ownership papers...

I have a photocopy of my ownership and insurance paper thingy in my glovebox... if and when i get pulled over or in an accident, am i expected to also have the originals of the ownership and inurance paper with me? or will the photocopies do? Posting this in the caneast forum since i want to know the specific rules here, i used to live in BC where photocopies of the insurance/ownership is just fine...

thanks in advance!

ok, this question might sound dumb, but why can't you put the original ownership in the car?
i think i read the fine print saying that it should be in the car...

i know that if you lose it, you can easily get a new one by going to the MTO...
so...?

I might be wrong here but I think if someone was to steal your car and they find your original ownership in there, it's possible for them to sell the car off to someone else or maybe to a dealership. Again I might be wrong.

This is why you keep ownership in yo wallet and INS in your car... that way if car was solen.. ownership wasn't in it...
