Salt on carpet...... need to get rid of it!!!!
as we all know this winter was snowy..... on some parts of my carpet is the salt film....
anybody know how to get rid of it???

That's why you guys have to invest in some winter floor mats [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/IMG] I picked some up at Crappy Tire for like 25 bux! 
Anyways, I've never heard of salt staining the carpet but I guess it could happen. Try washing the carpet with warm/hot water and use a mild detergent like Tide or any other laundry soap you have lying around. That should do the trick. If it still smells afterwards, Febreeze that bad boy! [IMG]i/expressions/laugh2.gif[/IMG]

Ouch, salt will eat away the colouring on the carpet... Even if you clean it up afterwards it'll still show come discolouration. It's done for. [IMG]i/expressions/moon.gif[/IMG]

ya same thing happened to me
but i dont know how can some ppl use their stock carpet as winter mat...dont they get really wet??? and all the water get suck to the bottom piece of carpet and the whole car smells like salt?
