How did the cat get installed on the bottom of the car? Was it welded on to the factory piping or does it bolt on somehow?

Why in the world is his exhaust port so very damaged??....

Also..did they disconnect the subframe and drop the whole engine a few inches to install it?. Or was it the mythical "re designed" version which isn't supposed to require cutting mounts?..
