Ordering from US - is there duty?
Hey guys, just a couple of quick questions:
1. I'm thinking about ordering the Revo Technica Short Shifter from Tornactive from the US. It'll be about $100 US.
Does anyone know if I will incur any duty fees? How much?
2. What products from the US can not incur duty fees? (This would be easier than list was does.)
3. Do you know of any online stores within Ontario which sells these for a decent price?
Thanks guys!

i got mine from autodynamic and yes, there were brokerage charges.. i think it was around 20 bucks or so for the brokerage
edit : i'm not sure but i think only warranty return parts and gifts below a certain dollar amount are not subject to tarrifs and duties

Thanks for your reply!
By searching I know there was a GB on this during the summer by "Decamo" - I missed it. The price was $160 CND taxes in. This is the price I'm aiming for if possible.
I called up a local performance shop here and they never heard of Revo.
If I order from the U.S., after price conversion, taxes, duties it will be around $200 CND. Is this a good price????

1. there are duties.... duties are 15% if ur in ontario. and if u do buy something.... try to get them to ship via USPS, then you may be able to save the insurance.
2. items that aren't made in USA or Mexico (NAFTA)
3. no idea..... haha

I ordered Injen SRI ($180USD) and goldline springs ($140USD) from tornactive. (total $320USD)
somehow they shipped them out seperately.
i had to pay import tax $57CAD for springs and $60CAD for intake.
I'm in BC so it might be different.

FedEx doesn't charge brokerage fees. THe only good thing about FedEx. I wouldn't use USPS for something you really want. When I lived up there, I bought lots of stuff from the US, when it got shipped by USPS, i had all sorts of problems.
check out http://www.borderfree.com
scratch border free, they used to be able to go to any store on the net, but now it looks like just certain stores.

Not worth my time to drive down, get hassled at the border both ways, & find a shop. Anyways, I've email tornactive about it...waiting for a reply.
yah they'll hassle you at the border... or you can juss go there, get it installed... and drive over... u'll be fine...
sometimes u might get lucky when things are shipped over the border, i just had an item shipped that was worth over $250 usd... and i didn't pay duty... (but the guy claimed it as a $20 good)
