Hey 1028CiViC!

Do you have any close up pics of your headlights? I wanna clear out my headlights and I'm debating whether or not I should black them out while I have the lights apart.
Any input from anyone else would be appreciated too. Should I black them out or should I just clear out that nasty orange relector?
Thanks

Just a note on blacking out headlight housings....

I spoke with a friend who's friend blacked out his RSX typeS housings (done by someone else whom he paid $100)...

If you're really picky about light output, don't black them out... You actually lose a bit of light.... Just so you know. How much? Well, it's noticeable to the guy that has them blacked out, so.....

Just so you know.

I'm thinking I might just clear them.
BTW... how hard was it to pry the lights apart? Did you put them in the oven, use a heatgun or just pull really hard?
I'm thinking I might do this tomorrow...

hey man it wasnt hard, be patient when doing the job..... and read the DIY.
if u dont have the SI coupe u can go start on STEP 1 and skip to 5 b/c STEPs 2-4 are talkin about the Front spoiler!

post your problems.... i did not heat them, i started prying them bit by bit with a screw driver, this is really itchy b/c one wrong move can break or ding the housing in, i just did it carfully b/c the caulking they use is hella hard..... and really hard to pry by your hands......

what i did was kept the brackets on and started to push one side and holding the lense!
p.s u dont have to completely take the bumper off.... i pushed mine apart.....

just take off 4 clips on top and the 2 screws on inside fender and pull the bumper off... fairly easy!
it took me about 2.5-3 hours my first time.... would i do it again???? NOPE

Thanks for the pictures. I think the JDM look is really nice... I'm having a hard time deciding on whether or not I should do this. I'm gonna hold out and do this maybe next week. I actually might be going up to Toronto some time after the new year and would love to see your lights in person.

Chigga: Thanks for the tips. I know what you mean about not taking the entire bumper off. I found a pic when I did a search

GuSTo: I appreciate the offer but I think I'll do it myself. I can learn a little more about the car this way and I like doing stuff like this Plus it saves me $50
