Rep Power: 0 "I like the JVC KD-SH909"
thats the general response im getting from people
the DEH-P8400MP is out of my price range, but i did initially look at the DEH-P7400MP becuase it was the right price (unfortunatly it lacked a lot of the features that the competition had)
thanks again

So would anyone have an idea what an LX 5 coupe would run in the quarter with Headers, Exhaust and AEM cold air intake and pulleys....would 14.8 to 15 be close??? I need to be around that if possible.... all ideas or opinions are welcome I have some friends bashing my car constantly...and I'm sure thats all they run.

Rep Power: 0 You will be lucky if you get 16.0. I've seen a red 7th gen lx coupe with a 5-speed run a 16.7 at Sparta. He had an AEM cold-air, pulleys, hp header with hi-flo cat and cat-back exhaust. With some good driving you could get low 16's maybe a high 15.8 or 15.9 if you're lucky.

Rep Power: 0 Well it's not too bad considering a stock lx 5-speed runs mid 17's stock. To get half-decent gains out of the non-vtec you have to get rid of the stock header and cat and go with a racing header and move the cat to the bottom part of the exhaust. That stock header and cat up top is what kills the performance of these non-vtec 7th gens.

Rep Power: 347 Ouch... that's real slow. NA is definatly not the way to go if you want some decent power.
How much of a shot of NOS could the LX engine handle? 75 Shot?

Rep Power: 0 It can handle a 50 shot if you're not racing it in on a daily basis. For a 75 shot you would have to build up the engine's internals. Even for a 50 shot i would work on the internals. You can run nitrous without engine mods but your engine will last maybe 2 years if you're lucky.

Rep Power: 0 we'll figure out the nitrous for our cars once we get some good internals
(but i wont be doing anything -- esp. since we wont be able to buy it or get it installed in ontario anymore)

Rep Power: 0 Save up your money and go custom Turbo. I know someone in town who can do custom turbo systems for pretty much any car. He does internals as well as computer engine management systems. He deals mostly with Porsche's now but still works on Hondas from time to time.

Rep Power: 0 Reni's Proven Performance. His shop is located off of Hyde Park Road (Right beside where Autosalon used to be). He used to build air plane engines for Rolls Royce. He is a genious. He did a custom cat-back exhaust for my old car where i could use a straight pipe that would go through my rear trailing arm instead of going around it. And i could remove it whenever i wanted. He also made a custom air intake for my car (Contour) which had a bunch of sensors that he molded into the intake. He knows what he is doing.

Rep Power: 0 What's up APRboy,
So how much do you think a custom turbo would really cost? I thought I wanted to trade my car in for an older SiR, but for the money those cost I could probably do a turbo, right?

Rep Power: 0 Merry Christmas CoupeStylz! Long time no speak! I'm not sure how much a turbo kit would cost but i'm gonna guess about $6000 for an intercooled turbo kit. Now that's installed and everything. You should have no problems keeping ahead of those pesky 6th gen SIRs. Now as far as buying an older SIR, they are hard to find and if you do find one it either has a ton of k's on it or they want a lot for it. I've seen 99's with decent k's on them goin' for about $20 000. All depends on what you get for yours.

Rep Power: 326 Whats up CoupeStylz and APRboy??
I finally got my reverse indiglos for christmas, and I can't wait to install them. Go for the turbo dude, by the time you trade yours in and buy an SIR (if you can find one) you'll be at a higher cost then the turbo itself.
Gimme a call over the break guys

Rep Power: 326 I might put them in myself, depends on how much work around the needles I have to do. If I don't have to mess around with them he hells yeah I'll just do it myself....how much does London Honda charge for the intsall??? I have to get my chrome bezel first anyway.
Anyone know who drives a black coupe, APC tails, superwhite bulbs all around?? I've seen him/her around lately
Peace
I hope everyone has had a sweet Christmas/Holiday

Rep Power: 0 I think it took London Honda about an hour and a half to put in the reverse glows and the chrome bezel. They did a good job. They know that there is a bit of shaving involved so you should be fine if you go with them. As for the coupe, i have seen that car around town too. Anyone from here?
