Injen Race division has two piece it's like a short ram..and than a extension..
what u can do is in the winter take the extension part out..so it's short ram..
but seriously..last winter i left my cold air..haha...

the whole filter has to be submerged in water before your engine sucks in the water...
the chances of that happening is slim...just drive carefully...
but to be safe...get an AEM bypass valve...
i have friends that have driven with the AEM CAI for 3-4 years now...no problems wutsoever.

this is just my opionion...
i have an injen cai...
yes it has to be submerged in liquid to suck it up...
if you have injen cai, the filter will be located underneath your left headlight, and sort of protected by it's surroundings.
im not as worried as i was before i got the cai...
bypass valve for the injen??? i asked and have not heard of such a thing...
i asked if i can use the aem bypass for the injen (i was told that it wouldn't fit/work)
edit: if you can get some kind of shield for the filter, i'd be interested in finding out if there is one available...

the AEM bypass value will fit with modification.
the best bet is to drive carefully when its wet out...don't be like...hey look at that huge puddle....lemme drive full speed into it...
i think the AEM CAI sits more in the engine bay...that would probably be safer...but wutever...

it's actually not that hard to reinstall the oem intake.. Taking out the CAI is not hard... But putting it back on does take a lot of time. It's still better than paying a mechanic to do it.
