Question about Cruise Control...

If I was driving 300km on a hwy what would I get the best milage with??

1) driving at 120km all the way

2) driving at 120km all the way using CRUISE CONTROL

I know cruise control is good because it keeps you at the same speed and lets you rest but, DOES Cruise Control used more gas in order for the computer to do more work????
Thanks

It depends if the road is flat or not.
If there are a lot of hills and downhills.. don't use CruiseControl or it will eat a lot of gas when going up.
If it is flat I don't think there a diff between cruise control or not...

cruise control uses more gas...

But why VtechChronicle, the great one?!?

Well little ones... cruise control wants to keep your car at 120... so it accelerates to get to 120... but when it downhills.. it breaks and slow down to get back to 120... and accelerates again. But if we drove manually, we would let it flow down the hill disregarding the fact that it's 130... and let it slide back to 120 when the road is straight again. So imagine ur car gasing and breaking 100X more than you would.

cruise control is only good for long distance driving..
it feels like i eat more gas for shorter distances...

***keep in mind our owner's manual say that cruise control helps saves gas***
it's hard to believe.
