not a pretty sight!
That's a definite write off. I had an almost exact replica of the damages on my 2000 Civic EX sedan back on Hallowe'en 2000. Front nose was all smashed, hood scraped up like that, my driver door wouldn't open correctly (kept on hitting the quarter panel), cracked windshield.
Though, I didn't have the damage like you have on the rear quarter, and the windshield wasn't as bad. My wheel wells were also better than yours....
Anyhow, mine was a writeoff. They paid back every penny. The funny thing is, my expensive PIAA 1900X fogs didn't even get a scratch! So, some lucky punk gets free PIAAs when that's in the junkyard....
As for taking things out of the car, Freddy's right. You cannot take anything out of the car except for personal belongings; anything that's bolted to the car now belongs to the insurance company, to be sold as scrap.
I took my old plates, my hyper bulbs in the rear (couldn't save my headlights bulbs as they were smashed), my floor mats, air freshener, that's it.... I tried to smash the 1900X fogs, but they're made of some REAL HARD glass! I was getting the cash back from insurance, and didn't want anyone to get free fogs...... oh well. I'm paying up the wazoo now because of that accident
The guy's at the dealership said there's nothing wrong with the engine bay in my old car.... no fluids were leaking, the radiator was in a weird shape, but otherwise it was fully driveable... Though, my freaking Clifford alarm went AWOL and stopped working... I had to have the tow truck driver SLIM JIM my car right in front of me, took 45 seconds, to get my cell phone out..... FRICK....

Don't recall the name but he drove a blue 7genSi like mine, he came in with some problem with a new header he bought or something. I sent him to Belles Corners Machine Shop to see if they would spot weld the area that was leaking.

Man, that's the second silver civic on Can East that go totalled. Welcome to the club Freddy
Well glad you're ok, and hope your insurance doesn't go up too much. Mine is going up 400 a year if I'm driving a Corolla, woulda been 600 if it's a Civic again.

Hey Freddy,
I dunno about decals on the doors, but there were stickers near the doors. He had a 7thGenCivic.com label across the lower front skirt.

So sorry to hear what happened to the ride, hope that you'll pull out and get another. Another deceased 2k1 good to hear you are all right.

they are expensive, but of really good quality! although they're not hard enough to handle a big impact.... he he...

Where do all you other Ottawa guys go for your parts? I'm usually at Pearl but I never see anybody else except Pete.
