Question Wiper Fluid Light On

hey everyone,

the other day my wiper fluid light came on, (gay canadian models only). i put in some water in the thing and the light still went on, so now it's almost full pretty much. i read the manual and it said not to put in water, but whatever, i didnt put that much in anyway, and if you look in you can still see liquid.

i've had this car for about a month now, the reason i bought honda is so it doesnt break down like a shitty american car every couple of weeks. is the wire really screwed, or whats going on here?

thanks.

it's a 99 hatchback btw.

Re: Wiper Fluid Light On

in my old car, the float in the coolant resevoir used to stick, and the "low coolant" light would come on. if i whacked the side of the bottle a couple times, the float would unstick, and the light would go off. i imagine that the washer fluid on your car is a similar. try whacking the bottle a couple times

Okay so first you say the bottle is almost full, then you say you didn't put that much in. Which is it?

i'm gonna hope he means the bottle was almost full, so he didn't have to put much in. but, on this site, who knows.

Re: Wiper Fluid Light On

The problem is the sensor that is at the botton of the washer reservoir. It is a plastic cylinder with a float disk. Replacing it should solve the problem.
