you never really know when to change it because every car is different but i'd go with what the owners manual says and replace it every 160,000km

If the belt snaps, your motor is screwed.

Funny though, a timing belt replacement can cost up to $500 bucks.

You can get a motor from a junker for that much, probably with lower milage.

If anyone needs a timing belt replacement deal let me know, I'm going to this guy soon and I'll post the results.

count me in on the deal... i got quoted 500bucks for a timing belt and water gasket change done.

well my guy told me 500$ aswell for water pump, timing belt and adjusting the valves and lifters ...
