General Exclaim UHP initial impressions

A couple of weeks back I decided that I was tired of the vibration on my front wheels (lack of balancing) and all the freakin road noise caused by my Yokohama Parada Spec 2's. I checked them out and they were really worn down, and would probably show belt any day. So this past Saturday after work I stopped in to Tires23 and Billy hooked up a pair of the General Exclaim UHP tires in 215/35YR18 for my fronts. I blasted my way through Mississauga in order to wear off the weirdo coating on the tires and was able to test them out on the way to Toronto for my gig.
I almost kicked myself for buying tires without refreshing my knowledge on speed ratings, but thankfully when I checked them out, the YR gave me back some confidence that they could handle slightly higher speeds. I was able to rotate these tires pretty fast and thankfully thanks to the balancing I got to some ridiculous speeds without a shimmy or a shake.
As for handling, I haven't had them out in the rain yet, though from looking at the tread pattern and reading a few reviews online it looks like they'll perform better than the Paradas, which were so-so at best anyway. On dry roads these things are amazing. Virtually noise-free on the pavement and they only complained a couple of times when I took some hard high speed corners.
I haven't had a chance to really test these in-depth, but considering they will cost WELL under $200 balanced and mounted for 18's (I forget how much exactly; probably around 175), I can imagine them costing 150-ish for 17's, a great price for a solid tire. The treadwear is rated 380 I believe, pretty standard stuff for a high-perf summer tire, but definitely better than the Paradas I have in the rear, which I imagine will need replacement sometime this summer too (damn high-wear tires).
By the way, from looking it up on Tirerack, here's a comparison chart I found:
Clicky
Too bad the tread isn't one of those super-sexy affairs I'm so used to seeing, but it's pretty good looking nonetheless:

If you're in the market for a tire this year, I highly recommend you give these a look!
