Rep Power: 0 car insurance increase?
i have a 2002 civic sedan LX-G(BTW: they don't know my car is lowered or that it has any mods). i currently have full coverage with a $500 deductible. i've had no accidents, claims, tickets or anything and my premium has gone up each of the last three years from $230 to $256 to the current rate of $287 per month. i called them and the broker told me that all car insurance rates have gone up and that their rates were too low in the past few years.
i'm 28 and i have a clean driving record. am i getting ripped off here?
i checked with a few companies and they are all still higher than what i am paying now? anybody have any reccommendations for insurance companies with good rates?

Rep Power: 344 I'm with Meloche Monnex (soon to be working for them too), paying $165 and change per month, 7 years no accidents or tickets, and no mods on record (tee hee). And that rate is down from the 180+ per month I was paying last year.

Rep Power: 270 Wow .. I don't feel bad with what I'm paying here in Quebec..
I'm $146 with full coverage and 250 deductible.. have one accident (partially at fault) on record with it as well -- thankfully they don't know about my one speeding ticket. I'm only 24 so I feel I should be higher than you - as I'm under the 25 bubble year (that and the fact that I'm paying extra for insurance to cover me if I drive another person's car, rental, etc..)
Oh well .. might be because of our no-fault policy, but damn that'd hurt to have to pay.

I'm paying $95 / mo with State Farm for my '02 civic - I'm 26
I also have insurance for my wife's car and house insurance with them which might explain the lower rate. (multi-line discount)
I'm thinking of raising my deductible for collision from $500 to $1000 - will save about $90 per year... with the way insurance jacks up your rates after any at-fault accident these days, best to keep your dedictibles high and pay for anything minor yourself and pocket the premium savings.

But man you guys pay alot. I pay $308 a month, but I have an '04 Accord, '04 Civic EX, '03 Civic EX and a '93 Accord with 3 drivers all on my insuance. And about 4 tickets between all three of us in the last 3 years.
I also found that when it was just me and one car on insurance, I dropped my insuance by $350 a year by simply adding my moms van on to my insuance. I just put "storage insuance" on it, so I couldn't actually drive the van, that cost $50 a year, but then I got a multicar discount of $400, so my insuance went down $350 a year. That was through Progressive by the way.

Rep Power: 295 Oh yeah, I've heard (from a good source) that different states have extremely different rates. So what I pay here in Ohio doesn't really apply to any one not in Ohio.

Rep Power: 0 i was quoted by Royal Bank for around $340 per month, Certas for $350 and State Farm wanted a ridiculous $460 per month. i have a CLEAN record which is why i can't understand why i'm getting screwed with the rates. compared to these three companies i should be greatful that i'm only paying $287. i've only had my G license for a year and a half. can this have a big effect on my premiums?
btw: i don't know how you guys are getting off with $200/month premiums.(THROW ME SOME PHONE NUMBERS AND HOOK ME UP!!!) the majority of my friends and people i work with are paying more than what i'm paying and they have older cars(1995-2000). i have a buddy with a '94/'95 integra gs(listed as stock) and he's paying about $360 a month (third party only) on his dads insurance(he can't get insurance under his own name). LOL!

Rep Power: 295 Like I siad it has alot to do with what state you are in and what they require from your insurance company. Once when I was talking to my insuance comapny, they siad if I lived anywhere but Ohio, I would be paying twice as much for insurance.
