anyone with neuspeed sports and stock wheels on (TRY THIS!)
i have a neuspeed sport drop on a 2002 Civic sedan(1.75F-1.5R). i just put my stock oems back on for winter(185/65/15). i noticed the front end seems about a quarter of an inch lower than when i had my summers on(215/40/18).
how did i notice this you ask? well, with my summers on i could fit a standard cd jewel case horizontally under my front OEM bumper, it just clears the rubber protector piece under the bumper(SEE PIC BELOW). now with my oems back on the same cd case bearly clips that rubber piece. i measured the width of a standard jewel case at about 5.25 inches which means i have about 5 inches of clearence for winter. roughly 12 cm, so on days when there is more than 10 cm of snow i'll be plowing with my front bumper.
anybody else with neuspeed sports notice this?
NOTE: i'm on oem stock shocks and tires, if you have aftermarket shocks the ride height may be different, same go for different tire sizes.
here is a pic of the drop with summer rims on (215/40/18)...

the reason for this is simple. You have the wrong size rubber. You could be that low with the 18s on if you had have bought 215/35/18
I am in the same thing you're currently in with my 215/35/19......but thats because I have no other alternative.

215/40/18 is not the worng tire size for our cars. you have the choice of 215/35/18 or 215/40/18. there is only about a quarter of an inch difference between the two maybe less. 215/35/18 is actually slightly smaller in diameter compared to the oem stock tires 185/65/15 so you should get an even lower drop on your car than what i have with my oems on. 215/40/18 is the same as the 215/35/18 except in the other direction meaning they are just slightly bigger in diameter. either of the two is fine on our cars.

sorta a similar topic but just wondering i have the sport and oem shocks setup as well and my car's drivers side sags more than the passenger side... i know that the left side of the car is heavier but would it get worse??

its no big deal..........same thing will my lowered prelude...........it would sit lower on the stock rims/rubber...........just as long as you have GOOD winter tires you'll be fine, trust me, my car was alot lower than yours and it snows pretty good up her in ottawa.........

how much lower is your car? how much clearence do you have under your front bumper? 1 or 2 inches? that's just ridiculous. if you hit a medium dip on the freeway you're scraping your front bumper, garaunteed maybe even braking it, if its fiberglass.
you'll learn but it will probably be a really expensive lesson...LOL!!
i am so confused of wht ur trying to say??? 215/40/18 tires is bigger than 185/65/15 tires, therefore ur car sits lower when u have stock wheels... theres no magic to this.
If u had 215/35/18 summer tires it would come close to ur stock tires size so ur drop wouldn't change when u switch wheels. don't worry about plowing snow in the winter... it won't do much damage to ur bumper at all because i've gone through the worst and my bumper is still on my car til this day, hahaha

use the tire calculater on this site and compare the tire sizes to stock. 215/35/18 is just slightly smaller than stock diameter and 215/40/18 is just slightly larger than stock. your car will actually sit lower with 215/35/18 on compared to 185/65/15. in other words, you'll be lower with your 18's on than the stock 15's(if using 35 profile). with 40 profile you'll be just slightly higher up than stock. both of these slight differences are not even noticeble unless you get on your hands and knees and examine the gap closely and even then you'd have to have two cars with the two different profiles on, side by side to notice it...basically what i'm saying is VISUALLY it doesn't make any difference whether you use 35 or 40 profile when it comes to how low your ride sits.
u were saying ur car in lower now by .25" after switching to stock tires right? and .25" is noticeable? don't trust the tire calculater, the picture on it is so crap... u only use it for reference and to calculate the speedometer..... its sounds about right that u are lower now by .25" after switching ur tire from 215/40/18 to 185/65/15..... so i dunno wht point u are trying to make here. if theres anything wrong with my explaination, please correct me because i'm not good at explaining things
