Winter Tires or All Seasons??

I've been debating since last month on what kind of tires i should get for winter. Last winter i got into an accident with the tires i had and i don't want a repeat or last year. So what kind of winter tires or all seasons do you guys/girls use?

How is the traction and stuff in snow conditions and ice conditions?

I've been debating between pirelli p3000's and toyo g02's...any suggestions?

I use michelin arctic alpin. SOOO much better then the firestone's, but if the roads are just wet, then you can hear a whistling noise from the tires.

I had a great ol time last winter on my 16" winter tires from Walmart. They're the "generic" line of like Firestone or BF or something like that...for 400 mounted, I couldn't really go wrong. I'm using them again this year. Yes indeedy.

Me too. I have the Walmart Wintermarks. $233 on-sale installed/balanced/tax inc. for a set of 185/65/14. They're super noisy on dry pavement, but they are amazing in the snow compared to my old Michelin's.

If you do most of your driving in the city, a GOOD set of all seasons can get you through fine. For a decent price on all seasons or even snows, check out Crappy Tire. Their motomaster tires (both all seasons and snows) are pretty good and usually on sale.

I've heard good things about Michelin HydroEdge all-seasons.. I was gonna get them, but selling the car now.. and on my other one I have Arctic Alpin winters - they're awesome.

But if I was getting new tires, I would go with HydroEdge

I got those Wal-mart brand too and they were great last winter. But they do make alot of noise while driving, so if u don't mind the noise it would be a good choice.

What's a little road noise when you've got an intake, exhaust, and a modified suspension (ie noisier)?

I got some Cooper Weather-Masters, stock size, on some 15" steelies for like $550ish.. They've saved my *** a couple of times. Damn OE Firestones are crap in rain and snow.

Me too - my sponsor was selling those for a while - apparently in some places those are the brand BMW uses for their winters.

$720 for 185/65/R15 Michelin Arctic Alpins mounted on 15" black steelies... Whistling noise when in wet weather... sounds like a supercharger to me

Got em at Green Bay Tire about 2-3 yrs ago... I think I them for like...2 winters...

I'll be mounting them on near the end of October... No garage, so any later and it'd be too cold for me to mount them...

I have hydroede tires from Michelin. Best decision I've made on my car. The firestones were such crap. These are so great in the rain, and they have an amazing rating for snow. I've had mine for about a year now, and run them year round. I basically have snow all winter too, and last year was no problem. I would check them out. I did a lot of research on tires before I bought mine.

most reviews gave it amazing ratings for good reason. 90k treadlife too.

also check out their site.

or check out tire rack. They have ratings from people that have these tires on their cars right now.

All Season: Goodyear Assurance TripleTred. They're like Hydroedge but have better ice/light snow traction. www.goodyearassurance.com I have them and so far wet and dry traction are amazing.

Winter Tires: I have no idea because it doesn't snow in Texas.
