TeLLy vs Pontiac Grand Prix

Last night I was at work at my second job, providing tech support and net admin for my friend's dad's company. Our team finished work at one location, and we had to drive to a second location to finish setting up the new VPN tunnel on the other server, thus completing the network conversion to new routers. Anyway, I had driven my car there, but my friend said "You guys just leave your cars at my house, I'll drive to Ed's (the other partner's house, where the server was stored)". So as you all know I drive a slammed EL, where getting in is a hilarious task of contorting one's body just right, then throwing said body into the car, landing in the seat at a high (but not ridiculous) velocity. So getting into the car the first time was OK, as I had to move stuff off the seat at the same time as climbing in - I had to crawl into the car.
The drive was uneventful, topics of conversation ranged from "should I dump this car (03 Grand Prix) and get a V6 Accord?" to "I went to the opening party for a Lexus dealership the other day". Get to the partner's house, do a little work, and back we go to my friend's house so we can do more testing and get our tired asses home. Coming out of the house, my friend unlocked the doors to his car, and I jumped into the rear, knowing the previous obstacles (gym bag, schoolbooks) had been removed before. I assumed the body contortions and "jump-in" stance for getting into my car....BIG mistake. As I jumped in, I realized 'hey, this car isn't lowered at all, in fact it's higher up than a STOCK EL'. I adjusted myself accordingly, so it seemed, and slammed my head on the door frame. And of course since I was being Efficient Smurf and pulling the door behind me so as to close it when I got in, my head bounced off the door frame and into the door, hitting my ear hard. I blacked out for a split second, then saw stars, then was dizzy for a few minutes. My friends were laughing but at the same time wondering if they should take me to the hospital, as they were both in the car and they actually felt the thing move on its suspension when I hit. Also I dropped my hat.

Today I have a bruise on the right side of my head, but at least the ringing has stopped. Thanks for reading.

funny story telly. It used to happen to everyone who went into my dad's old 1989 camry. This car was not dropped or anything, but the suspension was sagging. Everytime I would pick up someone in the car, they would bump their head.

I did it couple of times too.

Thread useless without pics .. Just kidding!!

Sorry to hear your experiences Will .. I know others have done it - and we all bitch about how bad it hurts. I know I've done it with borrowing my parent's car (older corolla which sits lower than stock civic) .. I just can't say I'd done it bad enough to bruise. Though the ringing to stop is a good thing, hopefully the bruise goes away quickly - and there wasn't any other damage done.

Well, I think all my *ahem* pharmaceutical recreation back in university killed most of my brain anyway, so it's not like I had a lot to lose....

So your head bounced? I'm glad my car isn't completely slammed.. I still almost trip when I get in it though because it's still lower than stock.. I have yet to do any head slamming on either my car or another though!

That's a euphemism for "methamphetamine dependency" or "cocaine addiction".
